You Know What to do with That Big Fat Butt, Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle

Except I totally don’t have a big fat butt and I was quite jealous of all the testers and their backsides during testing! Because every one of them has more to wiggle than I do.  Ooooh well. Me and my flat butt still really enjoyed testing the shirt version of the Patterns for Pirates Wiggle  Dress.  And honestly I can’t wait to make the dress version because all the testers just looked ahhh-mazing. This is such a fun pattern and I’m so excited for you all to try it!!

I made three tops during testing. The first is a crop top, short sleeves, and high back.  There is an option to add a band on the bottom instead of hemming but I liked where it hit on me so I just hemmed.

This is a charcoal ponte from Wal-Mart and it’s actually pretty good quality! I was impressed.

The next one I made was the shirt length with a low back.  I forgot to add length to this one, as I am 5’8″ and the pattern is drafted for a height of 5’5″. Standard rule of thumb is to add a 1/2″ for every inch taller. Whoops! It came out great but luckily I made this one with a super cheap scuba from Wal-Mart before I cut into my good stuff to check the fit. Isn’t that low back so much fun!?

My last one I remembered to lengthen and I love how it came out.  I made a circle skirt to go with it and it will be perfect for upcoming Christmas events!  This one is an embossed velvet from JoAnn’s.

The circle skirt is not part of the pattern – I self drafted it.  However, you could use the sweetheart pattern to make your own!!  I used DBP for the main fabric and ponte for the waistband.

All of mine are straight size medium.  I didn’t do any adjustments other than add length for my height.  You definitely need a sturdy knit for this one. Ponte and scuba are great. Something like DBP will work but it will show more of your bumps and curves!

This is such a great pattern to have! Especially for the holidays.  This will make one sexy dress for New Year’s Eve as well! I also love how your can dress it up or down depending on what you pair the top with!  Go grab the pattern here while it’s on sale!
